Our new little girl,
Oitamonsoon Chiona (Chiona is Egyptian meaning daughter
of the Nile) pet name Cheea and she is just gorgeous.
Cheea is dark silver with large black spots.
Oitamonsoon Aziza Sanura (Egyptian meaning precious
kitten) Aziza is a light silver girl, who looks
just like her mum. Aziza has her mum's wonderful
temperament, very chilled-out and very girly.
Egyptian Prince is a lovely dark silver boy with
the most amazing personality, he's a little tinker
making up games to play with the rest of his siblings
and always rushing around.
Nile is a light silver boy and what a size, Nile’s
just got bigger as he got older, he's like a teddy
bear and loves his hugs from mum.
Sekhmet and I love these kittens, they are amazing.
They get on so well with my Siamese family. I'm
sure Sekhmet will enjoy having her own daughter
to look after. I am really looking forward to taking
both Sekhmet and Cheea to a show this year. |

Sekhmet Of Oitamonsoon
Sekhmet has a beautiful head type,
large gooseberry green eyes showing that magical Mau
expression.Sekhmet has very clear light silver colour
with delicate charcoal, well defined spots and stripes
that really stand out. Best of all Seky has a wonderful
temperament, gentle, sweet and always ready to sit on
your lap for a hug and purrr, but she always seems to
be kitten like wanting to play and race around.
Sekhmet’s Show results 2004:
Sekhmet was awarded 7 Merit Certificates
at her first 7 GCCF shows. 4 Best Of Breed
and 22 1st in her side classes where
she was up against all other Maus and
Foreign breeds. Sekhmet was the highest scoring Egyptian
Mau kitten in the 2004-2005 GCCF show season. Recently
Sekhmet was awarded her first IC at the Yorkshire Show
in her adult class, she also took Best Of Breed.
The Sire I picked:
Matiki's CC Rider of Singpur
Breeder: Jan and Bonnie Wydro (Matiki Cattery)
Owner: Dr Melissa Bateson of New kingdom.
CC was the third Mau stud to arrive in the UK. He comes
from the famous Matiki Cattery in
Atlanta, Georgia and has a superb pedigree. His sire
is a CFA regional winner, and his dam
is a CFA Grand Champion and was CFA's Best of Breed
Egyptian Mau in the year she was shown.
I picked CC because he has already
proven himself to be a great asset to the UK breeding
programme. He has beautiful head type, beautiful green
eyes and has a very clear silver colour with no tarnishing.
He has produced some lovely kittens. When I first met
CC he was the perfect gentleman, strong and friendly
living as a member of the family in Melissa’s
home.
GCCF Shows Results: CC was awarded
Merit Certificates at his first four GCCF shows. He
was the highest scoring male Egyptian Mau in the 2002-2003
GCCF show season. Recently CC was awarded his first
IC at the Cumberland Show where he also took Best Of
Breed in a nice class of four adult Maus.
Egyptian Mau
Breeding Program
Egyptian Maus have only been in this
country since 1998, so can be difficult to get hold
of. They come in three recognised colours: Silver,
Bronze & Smoke. The silver
Mau comes in light silver with charcoal spots and dark
silver with black spots. My interest is in the light
Silver, although I do get and show both light and dark.
I follow a breeding program; I aim
to breed top quality Egyptian Maus
maintaining the type, health, colour and temperament
of this magical breed.
They are extremely beautiful cats, agile and very intelligent,
always looking for ways to help you around the house
or just wanting to play. They constantly change their
facial expression that just makes you stop in your tracks,
I know what my girls thinking when she looks at me!
They are the fastest domestic cats and love racing around,
retrieving toys, they also like making cosy little dens,
so like it when you provide cat wigwams or give them
cushions to play with. Like most short haired cats Maus
need little grooming but they like a rub with a velvet
pad once a week just to feel nice.
My kittens leave home at 14 weeks, registered with the
GCCF, fully vaccinated, wormed, have received a vet
health check-up, are insured, micro-chipped and have
their own kitten goodie bag full of food samples, toys,
bowls and much more!!
